May 24 – This year’s edition of the National Basketball Association (NBA) title race is now down to the final four teams with the Cleveland Cavaliers now the outright favourite with just about all the major online bookies to win their first championship.
The Cavaliers easily defeated the Atlanta Hawks in four games and have squared the series with Orlando. They are now listed at odds of 10/11 with Sportsbook.com (US players welcome) to win the 2009 NBA title.
UK bookie Bet365.com lists Cleveland at 2/3 for the title with Bodog.com (US welcome) listing them at 5/6 and Betway.com (no US players) at 21/20.
Last year’s runners up, the Los Angeles Lakers, started the playoffs as the clear favorite but had a hard time against the Houston Rockets and have not started well against the Nuggets. The Lakers are 29/20 at Betway.com to win the whole thing, 2/1 and Bodog.com 3/2 at Sportsbook.com.
Denver is is falling away at Bodog.com who had them at 4/1 for the title and Sportsbook.com has the Nuggets at 9/1.
Although the Orlando Magic looked good against the Celtics, they have their work cut out against Cleveland and are 6/1 to go all the way at Bodog.com.
