Former West Ham coach and Aston Villa player Alan Curbishley is the latest big name gamble for the never-ending manager job saga at Villa Park, according to English bookmaker Ladbrokes.
Curbishley has been backed into betting odds of 2/1 – from 10/1 – and is the new second betting favourite behind 6/4 chance Kevin Macdonald.
Though, the bookies even admit that they are struggling to keep pace with the ever-changing market.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “There seems to be a new name up for the Villa job almost every day. Curbishley is the hottest candidate at the moment but we’re left feeling that the ship hasn’t yet sailed and there are more changes to come.”
Meanwhile, England are 3/10 with Ladbrokes to get their European Championship qualification campaign off to a winning start at Wembley against Bulgaria, and at odds of 11/10 to win to nil without John Terry and Rio Ferdinand.
