Microgaming-powered mobile-gambling provider Spin3 has now made Blackjack available as an application for Android users, with the rest of its mobile portfolio soon to follow.
Casino Classics for Popular Smartphones
Microgaming’s partnership with Spin3 has already enabled its casinos to offer online casino games like the Mega Moolah and the Major Millions to users of popular Smartphones like the Apple iPhone.
Now Blackjack will lead the way for its Android applications, on the back of the prediction that by 2012 the worldwide market share of Android Smartphones will rise to 14%.
Currently, Android is the operating system for high-demand mobile phones like the Google Nexus One, the Motorola Droid and the HTC Desire.
If the predicted increase in market share materializes, Android users will surpass that of other popular devices like Windows Mobile, iPhone and Blackberry
All Slots First in Line
All Slots Casino is first in line to launch the Android applications in both free and real-money versions, with mobile clients of other Microgaming casinos to follow in the coming weeks.

Nicholas Jenkins, the feisty lawyer and internet entrepreneur who has fought the Washington state government through the courts in defending his Betcha.com concept may have come to the end of the road. This week the Washington Supreme Court ruled that the founder of Betcha’s unique proposition that betting was not gambling because losing players were not compelled to pay up still constituted illegal gambling.
In a unanimous ruling, the court defined Betcha as an illegal bookie because it arranged bets and took a percentage of the action as a fee, reports Associated Press.
The Bench said it did not have to decide whether optional payments by bettors would allow Betcha to technically escape the state’s gambling restrictions.
“Under the statutory definition of bookmaking, it is immaterial whether or not Betcha users were engaged in gambling activity,” Justice Tom Chambers wrote for the court.
With typical irreverence and humour, Jenkins wrote on his blog that the court’s reasoning “didn’t pass the giggle test.”
“Never in a million years did I expect an opinion like this one,” Jenkins wrote. “

Many states are having trouble keeping ahead of their budgets, and several of these states have decided that gambling would be a way to refill their state coffers. Minnesota could be the next state to expand gambling in order to reinvigorate their draining coffers.
A pair of the gubernatorial candidates in the state have stated that they would contemplate the addition of new forms of gambling as an option to boost the state’s general fund.
Mark Dayton of the Democratic Party, as well as Tom Horner of the Independence party have stated that gambling could be an option for alleviating the $5.8 billion dollar deficit in the state’s budget.
Despite the candidates’ intentions, the Native American tribes in the state have proclaimed their intentions to fight the gambling expansion tooth and nail.
According to early estimates, adding slots to the states racetracks would generate an estimated $250 million in revenue.
A new casino would also be planned, according to Mark Dayton.

Poker experts are getting younger and younger. It used to be a man’s game that people didn’t expect to get mastered until you were in your thirties. Times are changing, though, primarily because of the Internet. Though in Las Vegas you have to be 21 to enter a casino, as is the case in Atlantic City and many casinos worldwide, players are starting so young that they are becoming experts at online poker well before they can even set foot inside a casino on the Vegas Strip.
It is a trend that has become so noticeable that it even caught the attention of ABC News. Last year, Joe Cada became the youngest player ever to win the World Series of Poker, earning the bracelet at the age of 22. So

In a speculative article this week the Reuters news agency considered the online gambling scene following the merger between giants Party Gaming and Bwin Interactive, commenting that 888 and Sportingbet are possible future takeover targets as the industry consolidates, but only once their legal liabilities in the US market are cleared.
The article points out that serious negotiations in the Party Gaming – Bwin merger were only concluded once Party Gaming had secured its $105 million settlement with US authorities.
